WISDOM - Do I Make Wise Choices?

Adriana Kuch was a 14-year-old freshman viciously beaten by girls in the hall of her New Jersey high school. It was a planned beating, with other students recording the incident on their cell phones. The purpose was to upload the video to TikTok and become famous. Two days after the beating, after hundreds of hateful comments on the video from people she didn’t know, Adriana committed suicide. So far, there are three students charged as an accessory to her death. Many of the students involved in the beating video now wish they had made a wiser choice of friends. As we continue our series on Spiritual Health, we learn how healthy Christians pursue wise choices, not just avoid openly sinful ones.

1 Samuel 22:6-23 - The Antichrist

Bryan Brown is a Christian attorney licensed to practice law in Kansas and has been admitted to the bar of the U.S. Supreme Court. His application to the Indiana Board of Law Examiners was denied based on his admitted adherence to God’s laws above human laws. He was required to receive a psychological assessment after they asked him about his views regarding the final judgment, sexual morality, and gender roles. The Letters of John remind us we should not be surprised when the spirit of the antichrist shows up around us and we are hated like Jesus. Join us in our study as we meet an Old Testament antichrist and learn how to avoid his seductive work to destroy God’s people.

Philippians 4:1-9 - Christian Endurance

The Indy 500 is the largest sporting venue in the world. It has a seating capacity over 235,000. Add infield seating capacity, and they can handle over 400,000 people. While everyone loves a good race, the only way you can place in a race is you need to finish the race. Blowing an engine or crashing into a wall leaves you with nothing. The Christian life is like the Indy 500. What matters more than starting the Christian life is enduring to the end and finishing the Christian life. As Paul begins to wind up his letter to the Philippians, he gives them five hurdles they need to conquer if they are going to stand firm in Christ for the long haul. They are the same challenges we face if we want to be faithful to Jesus until the end of our days. Join us as we learn how to stand strong for Christ until we finish the race of life.

Mark 7:14-23 - Jesus Gives A New Heart

How often do you allow your mind to think about something that is sinful but feel there is nothing wrong by entertaining yourself with that sin because you haven't actually committed the act? As long as there is a separation between what we think and do, we feel we are ok. After all, we let ourselves be entertained on television and in the movies by watching murder and adultery. If we can watch it on the screen, what is wrong with thinking about it in our minds? Jesus feels very differently on this subject. The separation between our physical and mental world is not that distant. How can we stop thinking about sin? How can we have a heart that loves God and longs to do what is right? Join us as we learn why the mind matters and how God changes our heart.

Ephesians 3:14-21 - Getting More Joy From The Gift Of The Son

When it comes to our relationship with Jesus, it is easy to think most of those blessings will be ours in eternity, not today. As we continue our study in Ephesians we learn how we can have more joy from the gift of Jesus today, not just in the future.

Colossians 3:1-11 - Why Does My Thought Life Matter?

Does God care about our thought life? It is easy to think we can separate the actions of our life from the thoughts of our mind. In reality, our fantasies are only one step removed from our realities. In this study, we learn all Christian living begins on the battlefield of the mind with Christian thinking.
