WARMTH - Do I Love The Church?

Recently the heat went out on our Spencer campus. People came to church in winter clothes, boots, and mittens. The good news is that they came. What brought people to church was the relational warmth of the people, not the temperature warmth of the building. Would you rather attend a church with a warm building but cold people or a church with a cold building but warm people? Join us as we look at the relational warmth of the church and how it reveals the true state of our spiritual health.

Genesis 4+5 - Descent

A 1991 article in the Chicago Tribune told how a Texas mother was so intent on her 13 year old daughter making the cheerleading squad that she hired a hitman to kill the mother of her daughters competition. Detectives discovered she originally planned a double murder of the daughter and the mother but the double murder turned out to be too expensive so she opted for a single murder of the mother for a cheap $2,500. All this to secure her 13 year old daughter's spot on the cheerleading squad. How to people become so evil and cold-hearted? As we continue our way through Genesis we learn how sin slowly takes control of each of our lives and drags us into a descent of increasing levels of wickedness. Jesus is our line of hope from God to break free.

Ephesians 4:7-16 - When Everybody Does Their Part

Life is busy. The kids take our time, work demands more hours. When we come to church, it feels so good to sit, relax and take it all in. The problem is that our resting may be stifling our love for Jesus and our brothers and sister through Jesus. Find out why everyone should insist that they serve in their church.

Ephesians 3:1-13 - Ministry is Worth the Sacrifice

We are entering a busy season at CrossWinds. We have a new name, a new web site, and a new campus is about to launch. Leaders are moving from Spirit Lake to Spencer helping to get the campus off the ground. This gives us expected holes on our ministry teams. It is a time where everyone needs to work extra hard and long hours. Is it worth it? In Ephesians 3, we find out.
