1 Corinthians 15:1-19 - Is the Resurrection Historical Fact Or Fiction?

On Sunday, December 4, 2016, a man with a rifle came into a northwestern Washington D.C. pizza shop and started shooting. Thankfully he was arrested, and nobody was hurt. It was the motive for his crime that was shocking. The pizza shop, Comet Ping Pong, was accused on Twitter of serving as the base for a pedophile sex ring involving presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and members of her campaign. The accusations of the pizza shop sex ring were re-tweeted and re-posted on social media so many times that many considered them true. Is the resurrection the same way for the Christian faith? Was the resurrection fake news that was repeated so many times that people believed it to be true? Join us as we learn why the resurrection of Jesus from the dead is a fact we can trust.

1 Corinthians 15:1-11, 20-28 - From Resurrection To Restoration

As of the end of March 2022, it is estimated Russia has lost between 7,000 to 15,000 troops in its attempt to take over Ukraine. While that number is terrible, we should put that in perspective. Each day there are 6,400 Americans that die of cancer, heart disease, car accidents, and a myriad of other causes. That is 3.3 million people a year. The war between Russia and Ukraine brought about many immediate deaths, but it has not changed the ultimate number of deaths. It doesn’t matter if you eat healthily, buckle up, and avoid war... all of us will die. When that fearful moment comes, is there a way to know our next life will be better than this life? The Bible tells us Jesus came so we do not need to fear our death. Join me on Easter Sunday as we learn how we can know the resurrection of Jesus is true and how Jesus’ resurrection changes our future.

1 Corinthians 15:29-34 - How Does The Resurrection Change The Way I Live?

Easter comes every spring. It was placed on the calendar in the spring so the new life rising out of the earth after a cold and dead winter would be an annual reminder of Jesus rising to life after death for us. While Easter is a wonderful reminder of the empty tomb, how does the resurrection of Jesus change the way we live the rest of the year? In this study we learn how Jesus' resurrection changes the way we live every day.

1 Corinthians 15:12-26 - The Resurrection Changes Everything!

Since the first COVID-19 death on February 29 of this year, 24,000 Americans have died. While this may sound like an astronomical number, in the same period of time, over 353,000 Americans died of other causes. At this time, the average American is 15 times more likely to die of a car accident, cancer, falling out of bed or some other random form of death than COVID-19. This reminds us that even if we wash our hands, cover our face with a bandana while in public and avoid the virus, all we can do is delay our death. We can not avoid death. It finds us at an alarming rate. The good news of Easter is for those who love Jesus, he transforms death. A Christian's death is not something to fear. It is something to celebrate as they are brought into the presence of God. Join us as we see how the resurrection changes everything about death… and life!

We live in a world flooded with information. Our inbox and mailbox are filled with junk mail. We pay for 200 channels of television but most programs are filled with commercials we don't want to see. As we focus on our CrossWinds church emphasis of Generous Living, this week we take a look at the parable of the Good Samaritan and discover that generous love for other is essential if we have experienced the generous love of Jesus.

The Resurrection Changes Everything

NT Wright—a prominent Anglican theologian, talks about his friend, Marcus Borg. NT believes Marcus is a Christian even though he doesn't believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus. Is it possible to be a Christian without believing in the literal resurrection? In this study we learn how a Christ that didn't rise destroys our faith. A Jesus that did rise changes our lives.
